Below are some examples of projects currently being undertaken in Australia’s various industries.
Oil and GasDevelopment Studies
Two separate projects are going through engineering evaluation studies to finalise a development concept for LNG Production Facilities capable of supporting up to 15mtpa of LNG and 6mtpa of LNG respectively.
Expenditure: AUS $12B (USD $11B, GBP £5.4B) and AUS $8B (USD $7B, GBP £3.6B) respectively
Breaking News: The Federal Government of Australia has approved the development of a LNG gas project with an estimated resource base of more than 40 trillion producing 10mtpa of LNG.
Expenditure: AUS $11B (USD $10B, GBP £5B)
Mining (Including major Infrastructure)An iron-ore project including a multi-user railway and new port facilities is currently being developed to produce 45mtpa of Iron-Ore.

InfrastructureDesalination Plant -
Australia is looking to develop another desalination plant after recently completing the 3rd largest Desalination plant in the world
Expenditure: AUD $0.4B (USD $0.36B, GBP £0.2B)
Urban DevelopmentAn urban development project is currently underway on land adjacent to the CBD of Melbourne, due for completion in 2015, this the development will boost waterfront shops/business blocks and residential zones.
Expenditure: AUS $8B (USD $7B, GBP £3.6B)
DefenceA significant naval shipbuilding project involving the construction of 3 Air Warfare Destroyers has commenced the build phase. The project is scheduled to deliver the ships to the Royal Australia Navy between 2014 -2017.

EnvironmentAn ambitious sustainable energy project is being evaluated to construct a solar tower capable of producing 200MW of power into the Australian national grid, without producing greenhouse gas emissions. The power generated would be enough to supply renewable energy to approximately 200,000 households.
