Recruitment Process
Q. Why am I asked to complete such a detailed registration form?
A. The information you provided in the online registration form will enable us to provide you with a fully informed response regarding a suitable position that may interest you.
Q. How will my private information be used?
A. Radiate Recruitment abides by the federal privacy legislation. Please refer to our Privacy Statement for further information.
Q. What is the process after my information is submitted?
A. You will be contacted immediately upon receipt of your registration, by email and/or telephone.
Q. How will I be contacted regarding suitable positions?
A. Following our initial contact, you will be informed regularly regarding all suitable positions that arise via email.
Q. Will I be required to sign a contract with Radiate Recruitment?
A. No - Radiate Recruitment does not require its candidates to sign a contract with us. We do however request that our candidates abide by our terms and conditions. Please click on the following link to view our terms and conditions.
Financial Aspects
Q. Who will pay for my travel and accommodation?
A. Radiate Recruitment does not get involved with salary negotiations with the prospective employer on your behalf. You should negotiate any reimbursement, travel and accommodation expenses with the prospective employer.
Q. Will I be required to pay for your services?
A. Radiate Recruitment’s services are free of charge to all candidates.
Migration
Q. How long can I work in Australia?
A. Most overseas engineers working in Australia hold a company sponsored Temporary Visa which enables them to live and work in Australia for up to 4 years. We are also able to assist candidates who wish to relocate to Australia permanently.
Q. How long is a typical employment contract?
A. The employment contract offered is dependent on individual companies and can be negotiated with the employer. Candidates are usually offered a 1 to 2 year contract with a 3 month probation period.
Living & Working In Australia
Q. What are the salaries like in Australia?
A. An Engineer’s salary is dependent on specialisation, experience and industry. A salary range of approximately $65,000 - $180,000 can be expected in a major engineering or resource company. As the cost of living in Australia is significantly lower than the UK and most of Europe, the salaries generally paid to engineers provide for a very comfortable lifestyle due to the high standard of living in Australia.
Q. What is the cost of living in Australia?
A. The cost of living is dependent on lifestyle of the person or family unit. As a general guide the approximate minimum monthly major expenses or an average person or family are shown in the following table.

Q. What are the costs of houses in Australia
A. Cost of housing in Australia varies depending on location and type of accommodation. As a general guide the median price for an established house in major cities is; Perth: AUD$503,303, Melbourne: AUD$398,217, Hobart: AUD$258,059, Sydney: AUD$528,533, Adelaide: AUD$355,827, Darwin: AUD$332,000, Canberra: AUD$488,804.
